CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

BALLET 101

This is an introductory class to help students begin to understand the fundamentals of ballet. It is after-all the foundation of dance!

 

In weekly classes students will learn basic ballet positions and vocabulary/terminology, as well as the structure of a standard ballet class (Starting at the barre and moving into introductory center). This class is designed to build a strong core, beautiful lines, and a healthy body with fine posture and poise.  For a student to make appropriate progress in other dance forms, the study of ballet is necessary; especially for those seeking to join our competition teams. 

Some students spend more than two years in level 101 as their minds and bodies develop and adapt to working in harmony, while others progress more quickly.

 

Once a student has mastered the ballet technique appropriate for any level and is strong enough to accomplish particular movements, she or he will be moved up at the Instructor's and Director’s discretion.

POINTE

Pointe is an introductory class for students who have developed the strength, technique, and alignment necessary to begin pointe work safely. 

In this class, dancers will learn how to properly care for their feet, prepare their shoes, and execute foundational pointe exercises at the barre. The emphasis is on building strength in the ankles, feet, and core while reinforcing correct posture and placement. Students will not move to center pointe work until they demonstrate consistent control and readiness. 

This class is open by invitation only and typically follow several years of dedicated ballet training. Students must be evaluated and approved by both the Instructor and Director to ensure they are physically and technically prepared. 

 

General Age Range: 13+

BALLET 102

This class is designed for dancers who have a solid understanding of Ballet 101 and are ready to deepen their technique and artistry. 

In Ballet 102, students will continue developing classical vocabulary and begin more complex movement patterns both at the barre and in the center. There is increased focus on turnout, extension, musicality, and grace, all essential for building strength and confidence in ballet. 

As students advance through this level, they are expected to maintain proper alignment and demonstrate growing body awareness. Ballet 102 is a foundational level for dancers who wish to pursue pointe work or take on more demanding choreography in the future.

 

Most students will stay in this course for 2-3 years, as repetition and consistency are key.

BALLET 103

This is our most advanced foundational ballet class, created for dancers who are preparing for pre-pointe or are ready to take ballet into their performance work. 

In this class, students work on refining their technique, artistry, and stamina through longer combinations, more advanced vocabulary, and an increased emphasis on performance quality. 

Ballet 103 is a pre-pointe course that provides committed dancers with advanced technique. This class may only be taken by students approved by the instructor and director. 

General Age Range: 13-18

DANCING TOTS

This playful and nurturing class is designed for our tiniest dancers to begin exploring movement and music in a fun, supportive environment!

Each week, out Dancing Tots class focusing on motor skills, rhythm, coordination, and creative movement through age-appropriate songs, games, and storytelling. This class helps introduce the structure of a dance class while encouraging imagination, listening skills, and independence. 

Parent participation is welcome in the early weeks if needed, and the goal is to create a joyful foundation for future dance training. 

No prior experience required, just a love for music and movement! 

 

General Age Range: 2 - 4 

Class Duration: 45 min.

HIP HOP 101

Hip Hop 101 is an upbeat and energetic introduction to commercial hip hop!

In weekly classes, dancers will learn foundational grooves, isolations, and beginner choreography with an emphasis on rhythm, musicality, and personal style. Dancers will begin building confidence, coordination, and stamina through fun and engaging routines. 

No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn, move, and bring your energy to the floor! This is a great class for students who want to develop performance skills in a more relaxed, expressive setting. 

General Age Range: 6 - 10

INTRO TO DANCE

Intro to Dance is a perfect starting point for young dancers ready to take their first "real" dance class with more structure and focus, while still keeping it fun! 

In this combo-style class, students are introduced to the basics of ballet, jazz, tumbling, and creative movement. Dancers will explore rhythm, coordination, and classroom etiquette while learning foundational positions and beginner steps. This class lays the groundwork for confident transitions into style-specific classes later on. 

Our goal is to help each child feel successful, expressive, and excited to move, while building a strong base for future training. 

General Age Range: 4 - 6

Class Duration: 45 min.

ACRO 101

Acro 101 is a beginner-friendly class that teachers dancers how to safely execute foundational acrobatic movements while building strength, flexibility, and coordination. 

Students will work on essential skills like forward rolls, cartwheels, bridges, handstands, and balance exercises, all with an emphasis on proper technique and alignment. Conditioning is built into each class to prepare the body for more advanced tricks over time. 

Acro is a fantastic supplement to any dance style, helping dancers become more agile and expressive. Progression varies per student, and advancement to Acro 102 is determined by the Instructor and Director.

ACRO 102

Acro 102 builds upon the foundation set in Acro 101, introducing more complex skills. 

In this level, students are challenged to combine strength and control with fluid transitions, working on more advanced variations with guidance and spotting. Flexibility training and core conditioning remain a key part of each class. 

Students must consistently demonstrate safe technique and body awareness in order to progress. 

General Age Range: 8 - 12

Class Duration: 1 Hr

CLOGGING 101

In weekly classes, dancers will learn the fundamentals of clogging technique, timing, and terminology, including basic steps, shuffles, and patters. Clogging develops rhythm, coordination, and musicality, and is a fun and fast-paced class for students who love to move. 

General Age Range: 6 - 10

Class Duration: 45 min.

ACRO 103

Acro 103 is our advanced acrobatics class for dancers with a strong foundation who are ready for tumbling passes, aerial skills, and advanced partnering work. 

Dancers in this level must show consistent control, flexibility, and the ability to link multiple skills in seamless transitions. 

Placement and advancement are based on physical readiness and Instructor/Director discretion to ensure safety and success. 

General Age Range: 13 - 18

Class Duration: 1 Hr

STRETCH & STRENGTH

This non-performance class focuses on helping dancers improve flexibility, stability, mobility, and overall core and muscular strength. 

Through consistent work on dynamic stretching, deep muscle activation, and injury prevention techniques, dancers gain better control over their bodies - allowing for longer lines, higher extensions, stronger jumps, and more sustained balances. 

Ages Range: 8+

Class Duration: 30 - 45 min.

OPEN CONTEMPORARY

This open-level class is a space for dancers to explore contemporary movement through weekly combinations that encourage self-expression, artistry, and storytelling. 

Each week, dancers will learn a new combination designed to challenge musicality, dynamics, and emotional range. Improvisation and guided movement exploration may also be included. 

General Age Range: 10+

Class Duration: 1 Hr
